Current Community Projects

Since its inception over 90 years ago, the Junior League of Lincoln has contributed over $2,000,000 and over 375,000 volunteer hours to the Lincoln community. The JLL has wholly funded a number of projects, and has also collaborated with a number of social service agencies and other non-profit groups to see projects through to successful completion.

For more than a century The Junior League has been on the forefront of social reform, identifying problems and finding solutions in a collaborative way. The list of issues they’ve tackled is long and complicated:  pollution, illiteracy, domestic violence, foster children without a safety net, to name just a few.

The Junior League of Lincoln is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and improving our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. Our purpose is exclusively educational and charitable. Support our projects, including “The Hub,” a household goods store we created that helps young women transitioning to independence.

The Little Black Dress Initiative –
Donate Now

An awareness campaign to make poverty unfashionable. Participants wear one black dress for five days to illustrate the effects poverty can have on a woman’s access to resources, confidence and opportunities.
